About Luke Simpson the Farrier
Luke graduated #1 in class from Oregon State University.  He was such an expert that OSU kept him on doing their high performance horses.  Including OSU, he apprenticed underneath world renowned farriers using his skills on Dressage, English, Hunter Jumpers, Show/Halter and Polo Horses.  He than took his training back to his foundation of Rope, Show , Cutting/Reining, Gymkana & Barrel Horses.  This is very important as there are a lot of farriers, but the foundation and training of a farrier is what sets them apart.  To get the most out of your horses performances, a farrier needs to:

1. Understand the horses occupation and what is expected of the horse
2.  Translate that to YOUR horse - travels/moves/collects/incorrectness/wears/stands
3.  Get the most out of your horses performance while keeping sound!!!

"I recently began using Luke Simpson Farrier service and have been very happy with the outcome.  Luke treats his work as a career,  not just a way to get a weekly paycheck. He is very professional and treats his customers with respect and courtesy. He is prompt, and professional.  Not only that, but I have been very happy with the quality of his work. I never expected for my horses to improve so dramatically in such a short period of time.  He shapes the hooves the way I always thought one should be, and keeps them level and allows the horse to move at it's best.  He takes his time with all the horses and is always happy to explain his theories on shoeing and equine anatomy.
Luke is passionate about his work and goes the extra mile. He has come to the barrel races before and watched my horse work to make sure he is moving correctly and hitting the ground level. Luke's quality of work is great, he is professional, and his prices are very reasonable.

"After loosing a great horse shoer four years ago it has been an uphill battle trying to find a replacement. I just could not find a quality shoer in my area. I was so frustrated  because I would find a shoer that could do a couple of my horses but they couldn't another because all my horses have such different hooves and they all have different needs. I was to the point where I had different shoers for different horses. My horses were all becoming sore and I knew I had to find a quality shoer to help my horses out. I found Luke Simpson Farrier Service online and after reading all his credentials I figured I had nothing to loose. The first time luke put shoes on my horses I was extremely impressed! All along I knew what my horses hooves should look like and Luke finally achieved the results that I wanted for so long. He treats each of my horses as an individual. I believe there is only one right way to shoe a horse and that way is to shoe each horse as an individual and Luke does that. My horses are improving each time he shoes them because they becoming more correct each time. I don't have sore horses anymore and my horses are definately showing that in their performance. Luke cares about all horses well being and soundness, he isn't in it just for the money. I wish I would have found his services many years ago.

My name is Cris Osborne, I am a beginning barrel racer(did it many years ago).  I own 2 nice quarter horse mares that I am beginning to run.  I had been using a total different farrier, that in my opinion almost crippled my young mare.  Not the point of this but had to be said.
I happened to meet Kara at a barrel race in Arlington , Oregon .  We kept in touch thru a few races and at a Run in Pasco , I got to talking to her about shoers.  She introduced her husband Luke to my husband and I.  He looked at my mares feet and said there was a few different things he could do for her.  I made an appointment with him.  He shod my gray mare and trimmed my other one, plus our mule.  My young mare never limped a step from the time he trimmed her.  My gray mare started really clocking on the barrels thanks to his shoeing.  I am very very happy with the job that he does for us.  My animals stand for him where they would fuss and not stand still for other shoer.  Even our snorty mule stands nicely for him.  My young mare has a slight club foot and he's got her moving great on it..
My husband and I highly recommend Luke's shoeing abilities..
Thanks, Cris and Rod Osborne
